What is mise en
scene?
The arrangement of everything that appears in the framing –
actors, lighting, decor, props, costume. It is the way that all these factors
are put into one frame that will deter what kind of genre is going to take
place.
Example:
What response does
the mise en scene create for the audience?
All the factors that create mise en scene deter the audience’s
thoughts on each character and what scene is about to take place, but most of
all the genre the film will be. Like the décor such as the bed covers which are
covered in red and brown which may create a thought in the audiences head that
there may be death involved. And the most obvious prop on this picture is the
gun which will make the audience jump and think different about the whole
situation in the film.

Berkay, you need to much further your discussion here of iconography as opposed to simply defining mis en scene in general.
ReplyDeleteConsider being more specific with your definition of iconography. Provide some examples of iconography which you can spot in thriller specific clips and develop your discussion with
a.) why this example of iconography is used
b.)The response that this causes from the audience.
Provide a final conclusion explaining what iconography you may intend to use in your trailer and why.
Please make the changes as suggested above.
